Kodumaja structures can sustain huge loads

Construction of timber-frame residential buildings higher than three storeys has been relatively rare so far. Only a handful of European construction companies have attempted to do that and not infrequently these attempts ended in failure.

Kodumaja built its first four-storey timber-frame apartment house in 2000 and the first five-storey timber-frame apartment house in 2003. After that we have constructed several five-storey timber-frame apartment houses in Norway. See References > Multi-storey houses

Simultaneously, we have carried out careful preparations to become ready for the construction of even higher timber-frame residential buildings. Static calculations of improved structural solutions and "destruction tests" carried out in the labs of Tallinn Technical University confirm that Kodumaja prefab modules based on a timber-frame are capable of sustaining very big loads.

Kodumaja companies are ready for the construction of six and even seven-storey timber-frame apartment houses which would perform well even in the regions with harsh climate where strong wind and snow loads are common.
